Psoriasis

A common chronic disease in which the immune system plays a central role.

The disease affects between 2-3% of the world’s population.  There is no cure for the disease, but the symptoms can be helped with treatment.

Psoriasis causes rashes on the skin and other ailments.  The cause is too rapid growth of skin cells and a systemic inflammation in the body.  There are different forms of psoriasis and symptoms often come in so-called relapses.  This means periods with more problems and major rashes and periods with little or no problems.  Most do not go away but can disappear in periods with the help of various treatments.  Psoriasis is not contagious and is not hereditary.
