Dry skin

A healthy skin barrier is intact, soft and supple.

If it is damaged and lacks moisture and fat, it feels dry, tight and may itch. The skin barrier can be weakened by various factors such as stress, dry air, climate, heredity or if you wash too often. Skin also becomes drier with age.

You can have dry skin without being bothered by eczema, but dry skin and damaged barrier increase the risk of eczema. That’s why it’s a good idea to find a moisturizing product that you can apply and rely on wet or dry.
